Hugh Keelan spoke to a small audience at the Retreat Farm, a mix of Sunday picnickers and opera lovers, in the shade of a large modular fabric shelter with a row of music stands and an electric piano.
“We have this ambition to do a whole pile of Wagner, the full Ring Cycle, which is absolutely absurd,” he said. “I’m actually kind of speechless.”
