William J. Myers

Wilmington – William J.  Myers, "Bill", 81, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 4th, 2023. Bill was born in New Haven, CT on September 20, 1941. He was the son of Frank and Leona Myers. For 57 years, he was the loving husband of Jacqueline Myers. He started high school at Saint Mary's where he met the love of his life, Jackie. He then transferred and graduated from Eli Whitney Technical High School where he learned his trade of printing. He continued to Paier Art School to sharpen his skills in drawing, design, and printing - all while raising a family and working full-time. He was employed by The Shoreline Times for over a decade and then moved on to Beauvais Printing for 7 years. Soon after, he opened his own printing company- Nova Printing and ran it successfully for 22 years. He was a very hard working and proud man. Through it all, Bill and Jackie built a life of love for themselves and their 3 children. In 1991, they purchased a vacation home in VT. This has been their happy place ever since. Eventually, they made this their permanent home to live the rest of their days. Between CT and VT, he has made cherished, lifelong friends. He was kind, supportive, generous, and forgiving. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for someone. He created and fostered love wherever he was. He was quick witted, empathetic, and calm. He was the voice of reason and the rock to his entire family. He had a diverse group of friends, and he opened his house, arms, and heart to everyone. He listened hard and he loved to learn about people - who they were and where they came from. He was an amazing storyteller, weaving together his experiences and life lessons. He was an avid skier and enjoyed skiing up until he was 79! He was an artist and recently returned to sketching.  Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Bill was blessed with 3 amazing children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Sadly, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Jacqueline Myers and their son, William Myers, Jr. But his girls, Maria and Elisa filled his life with grandkids and joy. This is probably what he was most proud of in his life. Not a day went by when he didn't speak to at least one of them. He was the family's biggest fan. He loved going to games to cheer on his grandkids or going to family get togethers to see how happy they were. Bill loved life and he lived it with "No Regrets". He was an amazing man – husband, father, Poppy, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his daughters Maria Snow (Brad Glazer) and Elisa Gobany and 4 grandchildren - William Myers III, Leah Rose and Andrew Gobany and Jadi Glazer, and 3 great grandchildren – Hailey, Lillian and Daisy Myers.  The love he showed them all will be in their hearts forever. We would like to thank our friend, Deirdre, and the incredible nurses in the CICU, Caitlin and Theresa, and his doctor, Dr. Shan Parikh - They all gave him incredible care and helped make his transition out of this world a peaceful one. A light may have dimmed here on Earth, but Heaven has gained a brilliant beacon of joy and love.
A Christian Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima in Wilmington, Vermont. To send the family personal condolences, please visit www.sheafuneralhomes.com.
