Wilmington votes “YES”

WILMINGTON- A petitioned revote on a Town Meeting ballot question to allow cannabis retail sales in town drew a remarkably large turnout Tuesday.  For the second time, the measure passed by a wide margin in a 276-136 vote.
Christian Engel, who owns Ratu’s Liquor & Market with his wife Jennifer Betit-Engel, petitioned the first Town Meeting ballot question, and the couple are pursuing a retail cannabis license from the Vermont Cannabis Control Board for their Wilmington Village store.  The couple were elated by the results of Tuesday’s vote.
