Officials warn of bears after some seen near school bus stops

This bear was seen earlier this summer along Route 100 near the Dover-Wilmington town line. Ivy Kirby

WILMINGTON - An email to parents of Twin Valley Elementary School students last week urged vigilance about bears spotted at bus stops.
“Over the past few days, several residents have reported seeing bears in the vicinity of bus stops, particularly during early morning and late afternoon hours,” said the email. “While these encounters have not resulted in any incidents, we want to ensure that everyone in our community is aware and takes necessary precautions to stay safe.”
