New fluoridation system may help rural towns

WILMINGTON - In recent months, national media attention has been given to the topic of fluoridating water and, specifically, fluoridating water in Vermont. But many of Vermont’s water systems aren’t fluoridated, including Wilmington’s public water system, in part because rural systems are too small to absorb the costs of traditional fluoridation processes. However, a new tablet system may provide an opportunity for communities like Wilmington to fluoridate if they want.
