Citing deteriorating physical plant, museum to move

WILMINGTON - The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum’s physical location on Hogback Mountain is closed to the public indefinitely. The nonprofit organization’s programming work, much of which happens throughout the community, will continue uninterrupted.
The museum announced its closure on social media Thursday, September 7. In a subsequent message posted on social media on Saturday, the museum said that due to “unforeseen circumstances related to building conditions” the museum’s brick-and-mortar location at Hogback Mountain would be closed until further notice.
