Indigenous-inspired feminist art on Sage Street

NORTH BENNINGTON -  The opening reception of “Las Tres Hermanas (The Three Sisters),” an exhibit featuring the works of artists Renée Bouchard, Maria Lucia Ferreira, and Patricia Burke Pedreira, will take place on Friday, September 24, from 5 to 7 pm at 29 Sage Street. Entrance is free of charge. The exhibit is inspired by complementary indigenous plantings of corn, beans, and squash. Independent, yet connected, they are birthing and growing bodies of work that include earth, children, menstrual blood, sweat, flowers, seeds, painting, and ritual.
