Kids art programs beginning

NORTH BENNINGTON - Sage Street Mill and Soulspace announce fall after-school studio-based arts and wellness opportunities for kids. Young artists ages 6 to 12 have a unique opportunity to experience regular weekly access to studio space and nature trails in order to explore and build their skills, ideas, and talents and connect with nature and friends.
Sage Street Mill encourages young artists to utilize the studio facilities and nature trails, experiment with different mediums, discuss their artwork with others, and keep an arts journal exploring their personal interests as well as solo and cooperative art projects and inspirations. They will also benefit by receiving individual guidance and kind feedback in all projects.
Art Creation Stations include places for painting on wood, canvas, and paper; molding with clay; drawing; journaling; and making 3-D sculptures using wood blocks and found objects.
The Soulspace studio also includes space for creative movement, cooperative games, yoga, and sharing circles. Students will learn evidence-based mindfulness practices that can help to reduce stress and cultivate joy, healthy self-expression, gratitude, and wellness, integrated into each after-school session.
The first program is “Afterschool Arts & Wellness” from October 20 to December 17, on Wednesdays and/or Fridays, from 3 to 5 pm.
Packages include $350 for all 16 sessions, on both days, or $200 for eight sessions, on either Wednesday or Friday. The second is “Saturday Arts Club,” from October 23 to November 13, and/or November 20 to December 11, on Saturdays from 1 to 3:30 pm. The cost is $125 for four sessions. Siblings get 10% off with a family discount.
Due to COVID-19, Sage Street Mill is limiting registration to 12 openings, so be sure to register and reserve a spot. The registration form and more information can be found at https://www.sagestreetmill.com/arts-club.
