Free admission, events at Clark Art Institute

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - Several events will be happening at the Clark Art Institute this weekend.
On Saturday, October 2, The Williams College Percussion Ensemble will perform Eliza Brown’s 2018 piece “Masque-Rondeau,” under the direction of Matthew Gold, as a part of the group’s continuing I/O program of new music.
“Masque-Rondeau” is a music-theater work for 10 to 26 musicians in which groups of performers gradually spread out across the performance space, shifting, reorganizing, and dispersing, while filling the space with long swells of sound.
This event is free; no registration required. Terrace seating is limited; bring a blanket or chairs for seating on the lawn.
On Sunday, October 3, enjoy free admission to the Clark Art Insitute and special activities. Sign up in advance to join guided walks through the exhibition “Ground/work” at 11 am, on the upper campus, and 2 pm, on the lower. From 1 to 4 pm, head outside to pick up a portable pastel kit, design an eye-catching display dome diorama, and stop by the observation station. Reservations for free timed tickets are recommended;  a limited number of free tickets will be available for walk-in visitors.
That same day, at 2 pm, join author Philip Hoare for a Zoom discussion of, and reading from, his new book “Albert and the Whale.” Copies of the book are available for purchase in the museum store. Registrants will receive an email with a private Zoom link before the event. The event will also be broadcast via Facebook Live.
