Rep. Ann Manwaring, of Wilmington, was assigned to the House Education Committee. At the same time, responsibility for the state’s education fund and funding mechanisms was transferred to the committee from the House Appropriations Committee. Manwaring said combining education policy and financing in one committee had been something she advocated since she was first elected to the Legislature.
