10 years ago:
A Whitingham man discovered an ancient structure on his land that he theorized might be Native American in origin, and could be a sacred site.  The unique structure included a pyramid-shaped stone mound surrounded by an earthen berm.  Through one of the berm walls was a stone-lined well, which still held groundwater.  The theories were never substantiated, but several experts on local archeology noted that there are known Native American sites in the region, including ceremonial cairns on Glastenbury Mountain.
