Chief says connection and accessibility have been key during pandemic


Wilmington Police Chief Matt Murano says the primary goal for his department during the pandemic has been to be accessible to people who may be in need.

WILMINGTON - Police chief Matt Murano says one of the first concerns he addressed when shutdowns began in March due to the pandemic was accessibility. That meant determining what to do about the department’s lobby. Guidance from the health department had been to restrict public access, which didn’t sit well with Murano.
