Life’s lesson learned?

Sometimes, educators need to be reminded there are lessons that can be learned outside the classroom.
Such was the case with an incident earlier this week, when state and local high school officials became embroiled in an open-access controversy after the Vermont Principals Association announced a state tournament soccer match between Winooski and Enosburg high schools would be closed to spectators and media.
That turned out to be a lesson in free speech and public access to taxpayer-funded events that Winooski and VPA officials seemed to have missed.
