Country headed for most divisive campaign ever?

The country is just weeks away from the early 2020 presidential contests, with Iowa caucuses taking place on February 3 and the New Hampshire primary following eight days later. That two-week span will likely pour more rhetorical gasoline on what is already one of the most volatile political periods in the history of the United States.  
Given the confrontational atmosphere of the country and how it’s manifested during the past decade, we have to wonder: Is the country headed for the most divisive presidential campaign ever?
