Food 4 Kids continues when school is over

DOVER- Everyone has heard about the Food 4 Kids program, right?  The one where elementary school children who need food on weekends are given a  bag of non-perishable food each Friday at school to get them through the weekend.
But wait, there is no school right now.  That has not stopped the Food 4 Kids volunteers from purchasing and packing bags that can still be picked up or delivered to help with food insecurity.
The Loose Knit Group (LKG) Food 4 Kids program is most grateful for the donations they have received to be able to continue this program, which began four years ago.  Donations have come from local residents, second-home owners, visitors, and organized groups like the Whitingham-Halifax Lions, Sotheby’s, Cub Scouts, Sue Neuman’s sixth grade class at Dover School, and others.
Sometimes donations are monetary and other times non-perishable food items.
As of now there are nearly 100 children from Dover, Twin Valley, Marlboro, and Wardsboro elementary schools that are benefiting from this program.
How can someone help?  Talk to an LKG member or send a check to Food 4 Kids, Box 710, West Dover, VT 05356.  The LKG is an outreach of the West Dover Congregational Church.
