What a great area we live in! I feel very blessed to be surrounded by a caring community. Ever since I have been diagnosed with colon cancer, I have been surrounded with the love and care of the community. I feel cushioned and supported every turn in the road. During my surgery and hospital stay I received so many cards, letters, flowers, and visits that I felt supported and that included my family, too. Quite often we support the patient and the family is still in shock and wondering what to do, but everyone has been included in my care and support with many meals sent in, calls, and offers to be of help, and just a hug or two. You don’t realize how priceless this is until you hit a “bad patch,” as the saying goes, and you need support.
I want to say a very heartfelt “thank you” to all who have remembered our family and ask that you keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I enter the chemo phase of this “bad patch.”
God bless you all,
Elizabeth Brown
