BRATTLEBORO- The 2010 juried exhibition, The Landscape Show, brings photographers together from much of New England to the Vermont Center for Photography for a show highlighting what is current in landscape photography.

Thirty-seven photographers bring their wide-ranging work to VCP for an exhibit opening on Gallery Walk Night, Friday, April 2, 5:30 to 8:30 pm in Brattleboro, Vermont.

Six members of the Gallery Committee of VCP judged the entries and were wondrously surprised at the quality and diversity of work. One juror, Doug Frank of Putney, said this show “promises to unveil some of those amazing folks, living in these magical places in New England. Thirty-seven different pairs of eyes peering out at snow, green, waterfalls, back alleys, beauty, and grime.” Another juror, Al Karevy of Richmond, NH, said, “Judging photographs is never easy but this group of photographers made it seem so.”

This exhibit presents work by some relatively new photographers, both young and older, as well as photographers who have been working at their art for many years. Students and professionals are represented. What holds them all together is that need to carry a camera with them to show everyone what they are seeing out there. The photographers accepted are: Ed Bissell, Linda Bryan, Kathy Carr, Amanda Carrier, CC Church, Judy Cummings, Donald David, Catherine Davis, William Dixon, Doug Frank, Al Geist, Lori Hinrichsen, Kirsten Hoving, Jeffrey Newcomer, Alex Kahler, Ariel Kessler, Thomas Labash, Thomas Ladd, Susan Lirakis, Robert McCann, Colin McNamara, Laura Mann, Joel Moses, Barbara Mueller, Neil J. Murphy, Paul Osborne, Christine Palie, Xareri Penichet, Eric Poggenpohl, Clayton Salem, Brent Seabrook, Jonathan Taylor, Dustin Underhill, Geoff van Kirk, Barbara Venturi, Peter Weyrauch, and Jane Wing.

This show is sponsored in part by Adagio Trattoria. The opening reception is on Friday, April 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, during Brattleboro Gallery Walk. The public is welcome. The exhibit will end on Sunday, May 2. The Gallery is located at 49 Flat Street next to the parking garage. Gallery hours are Friday, 1 to 6 pm; Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 pm; or by appointment.
