On Saturday, the action was slopestyle. Noelle Edwards, already qualified for nationals, took second among Breaker Girls (ages 12 and 13). Jessica Gibson took first in the youth category for ages 14 and 15, and teammate Codey Ellison claimed first for youth boys. Among juniors (ages 16 and 17), Wyatt Mosher took first and Austin Schweyher third for boys, and Allie Kaplan held the third spot for girls.
Sunday, the area of interest was the halfpipe, and many of the names were the same. Noelle Edwards took second in Breaker Girls. In the youth category, Gibson and Ellison each took a first, dominating their age groups. Among juniors, Mosher took second among men and Kaplan third among women.
Some of the alpine racers also had a lively weekend. At Bromley, the USSA J3 and J4 Open included over 150 racers. Brothers Andrew (J3) and Richard (J4) Sherras finished third and fifth overall.
Ian Wolff was at Bromley on Sunday for the World’s Best Skier event, an open slalom race. Wolff, a J2 (ages 15 and 16 ), placed first among J2 competitors and ninth overall.
