Mrs. Farkas was born in Queens, NY, on December 25, 1937 the daughter of Alfonse and Victoria (Christman) Pfrommer and attended local schools. She taught school in New York City in her earlier years and upon moving to Vermont worked at the Austrian House in West Dover for many years. She enjoyed needlepoint and loved to go fishing.
Mrs. Farkas is survived by her significant other, Daniel Hall Jr., of West Dover; her sons, Andrew Farkas, of Bennington, and Robert Farkas, of Wilmington; her daughter Victoria Hooten, of New York; her brothers, Thomas Horton, of New York, who was like a son to her, and Sonny Pfrommer, of Greenville, NY; her sisters, Trudy Bung, of Florida, and Margaret Girimonte, of Dix Hills, Long Island, NY; 15 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Farkas was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth McDermott.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 18, at Covey & Allen Funeral Home in Wilmington. Interment followed in Riverview Cemetery.
