VERNON- Douglas Lee “Doug” Gleason, 42, of Fairman Road, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 29, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Mr. Gleason was born in Brattleboro on April 10, 1967, the son of Phillip and Faith Barnes Gleason.

He was raised and educated in Vernon and had attended BUHS. He had been employed as a construction worker for several area businesses that included G.P.I. Construction, Brattleboro Roofing & Sheet Metal, and Perkins Home Center.

His pastimes and interests included hunting, fishing, the outdoors, softball, which he played in several Brattleboro leagues, and time shared with his family, especially his three children.

On April 28, 1990, in Brattle­boro, he was married to Heidi Drew. The marriage ended in divorce.

Survivors include two sons, Nathaniel Gleason and Timothy Gleason, of Wilmington; one daughter, Allison Gleason, of Wilmington; his parents, Philip Gleason and wife Brenda, of Roxbury, and Faith Black and husband, Daniel, of Cocoa Creek, TN; one brother, Robert Gleason and wife Pamela, of Burlington, and their children, Gary, Sara, and Philip. Additionally, he leaves several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private graveside committal service will be conducted Friday in North Cemetery in Vernon for the immediate family only.

Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, from 6 to 9 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of the funeral expenses.
