BENNINGTON- Edna Avera “Ande” Murdock, 76, of Jacksonville, died on Friday August 7, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. She was born on November 6, 1932, in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Charles N. and Edna M. (Royle) Avera. She was a 1950 graduate of the Kimberly School for Girls in Montclair, NJ, and was a graduate of Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. She married Forrest E. Murdock on June 9, 1962, in Glen Rock, NJ. Mr. Murdock died on November 15, 1998.

Mrs. Murdock worked at the International Travel Service in New Jersey and, for a short time after that, at the University of Vermont. She was the manager at the Lodge at Mount Snow. She owned and operated Royles Bazaar in Wilmington for a number of years. She enjoyed knitting, card making, and watching NASCAR races, and was also a big fan of “All My Children.”

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Peter Murdock, and his wife Laurie, of Springfield, and Matthew Royle Murdock, and his wife Sandra, of Wilmington; her brother, Vernon Royle Avera, of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, Leah Marie, Ian, Whitney, and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Thursday August 13, at at the Jacksonville Community Church.
