Mrs. Sherman was a member of the East Dover Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, sang in the choir, and also taught Sunday School. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ethel spent the past three years at the Thompson House in Brattleboro.
She is survived by three sons, Leslie F. Sherman, of Dummerston, Calvin L. Sherman and Sidney G. Sherman, both of East Dover; a daughter, Sylvia S. Jones, of East Dover; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Calvin Timothy Sherman, on January 19, 1995; two sisters, Emma Hamilton and Louise Hiliard; and a brother, Walter Robbins.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 20, at 11 am at the East Dover Village Cemetery.
