SAXTONS RIVER- The dirigible Colossus takes off on New Year’s Eve 1928 for an evening of dinner and danger as Main Street Arts and River Theater present the murder mystery dinner theater production of “Murder Is in the Air” Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16.

Boarding is at 6:30 pm, with takeoff at 7 pm, in MSA’s Heptebo Theater.

Stocks are flying high and so are the passengers aboard the mighty airship as it races against the SS Gigantic from Morocco to New York. Unfortunately, the Gigantic has sunk, but there are worse things in store for the Blue Star Line, especially when it is discovered that the line’s president Rex Barrington (played by John Luther) is missing.

It is up to Detective Dash Hunter (Brandon Norman) and the beautiful Clara Beaumont (Joey Macri) to try to solve the mystery and find out who might have helped Rex “disappear.”

Suspects include the steamy flapper Zelda Montgomery (Shawna Parker), her neurotic archeologist brother Winston (Michael Wright), union worker Rosco Malone (Chuck Lessard), who dotes on Cici (Betsy Giguere), the hot- blooded Argentinian social director, or the egotistic Russian Yefscott Chekhov (Brian Crystal), designer of the ship. And who is that mysterious stowaway?

The production is directed by Heidi Fagen and was written by Michael McKay, Julia McDowell, and Mignonne Profant as a Killer Entertainment.

Dinner will be catered by Harvest Moon and includes appetizers, salad, entrée, dessert, and a complimentary glass of wine. Additional spirits will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $30 and may be purchased by calling Main Street Arts at (802) 869- 2960 or e-mailing MSA@sover.net at least three days before the event. Tickets are also on sale at Village Square Booksellers in Bellows Falls, Putney Books, The Vault in Springfield, Village Video in Charlestown, NH, or online at www.mainstreetarts.org/tickets.
