MANCHESTER- Abigail Thomas returns by popular demand to the third annual Manchester and the Mountains Poets and Writers Weekend, April 23 to 25, presented by the Greater Manchester Arts Council. Stephen King writes, “[Abigail Thomas’] ‘A Three Dog Life’ is, I think, the best memoir I have ever read. It’s sad, terrifying, and scorchingly honest. It’s also a testament to the power of love, suggesting that even when love isn¹t enough, somehow, it is.”
Thomas, the daughter of renowned science writer Lewis Thomas (“The Lives of a Cell”), is considered one of the most accessible and engaging artist-practitioners in the field. Her memoir, “A Three Dog Life,” was named one of the best books of 2006 by the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post. She is also author of “Safekeeping,” a memoir, and “Thinking About Memoir.” Thomas teaches fiction writing in the graduate program at the New School and lives in Woodstock, NY.
Early bird registrations are being accepted through March 21. Regular registration ends April 12. For more information please visit www.greatermanchesterarts.org or phone Beth Meachem at (802) 867-0272 or e-mail gmarts06@myfairpoint.net.
