BENNINGTON- Bennington College is showing Marina Zurkow’s “Crossing the Waters,” an exhibition of seven animated single and multichannel works.
A New York-based media artist, Zurkow’s works comprise part of a series of animated paintings whose themes circulate around speculative fictions of the deluge and climate change; of water, ice, animals, and people. The pieces embody a tension between their cartoon forms, the natural sciences, eco-activism, and apocalyptic fantasy.
Accompanied by an essay by independent curator Michael Connor, “Crossing the Waters” will be on display in Usdan Gallery, open Tuesday through Saturday from 1 to 5 pm, until Saturday, March 27. For more information visit www.bennington.edu or call (802) 440-4347.
